There’s something truly magical about an in-home newborn session. Stepping into a family’s personal space, where they’re starting a new chapter of their lives, adds layers of intimacy and authenticity to the photos. Recently, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful newborn session in the heart of Brooklyn for Baby Liam.
The living room had soft, neutral tones with subtle pops of color from houseplants—the perfect backdrop for timeless newborn portraits. What made this session unique was the intentionality behind keeping it personal. The couple wanted their photos to reflect the reality of their first days as new parents. No elaborate props, no fuss—just the beauty of their everyday life with their little one.
Baby Liam was an absolute dream to photograph. Swaddled in soft, neutral wraps, he slept peacefully for most of the session, allowing us to capture those angelic close-ups that melt hearts. His tiny fingers, delicate lashes, and sweet yawns were the center of attention—as they should be! Moments like these remind me why I love what I do; it’s all about freezing time and preserving these fleeting details.
Photographing families in their homes creates a relaxed and meaningful experience. For new parents, there’s no need to worry about packing up baby essentials or traveling to a studio. Everything they need is within arm’s reach, which makes the session stress-free. Additionally, the photos become even more nostalgic over time because they’re tied to a specific place and moment.
