Meet Mr. and Mrs. Sullivan! These two were introduced by a mutual friend and had their first date at Brady’s “go to” bar, The Breselin. Still today, one of their favorite things to do together is explore all of the wonderful restaurants in New York City (same!) and over-order so they can try as much of the menu as possible. Their wedding had to take place somewhere with mouthwatering cuisine, and The River Cafe in Brooklyn was the perfect fit. The gorgeous NYC skyline views were just a bonus! I can’t wait to share a few of my favorite moments and details of this incredible wedding.

We absolutely loved working with Lizzie! From our first call, it was clear that Lizzie was not only kind and talented but also incredibly passionate, fully committed to capturing beautiful memories for her couples, and super organized. Leading up to our wedding, Lizzie checked in frequently, was quick to respond to and answer any questions, and put together an amazing timeline (with an alternative rain option) that kept us on track but left plenty of room for us to relax and enjoy the day! When working with Lizzie both for our engagement shoot and our wedding day, Lizzie made us feel relaxed, hyped up, and comfortable in front of the camera. She did an amazing job capturing all the little moments and the genuine emotion and feel of the day. When looking back at the photos, it feels like we’re reliving the moments, big laughs and all. Lizzie’s photography is classic and timeless and authentic to her couples. And she is an absolute pleasure to work with! We’re so thankful to have such beautiful photos to remember our wedding day!!

In the heart of Brooklyn's vibrant DUMBO neighborhood stands a remarkable blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty – 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. With its breathtaking views of the iconic Manhattan skyline and the East River, this eco-luxury hotel offers couples a stunning canvas for getting ready photos.

Danielle got ready at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, while Brady got ready at New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. Opting for an intimate affair, the couple decided against having a formal wedding party. Both hotels provided ample natural light, creating an ideal setting for capturing stunning getting-ready photos. As a photographer, I always emphasize to couples that the right lighting can truly make a difference. The getting-ready details, including the bouquet and invitations, showcased exquisite neutral colors like blush and white, adding to the overall beauty of the occasion. We were off to a fabulous start!

A First Look by the Brooklyn Bridge

Just outside of the hotels, we set Danielle and Brady up to see each other for the first time on their wedding day. Their reactions were priceless, with both of them raising their hands up in the air. It was such a sweet moment. From there, we started to capture their wedding day portraits in front of the iconic NYC skyline. Even as a NYC photographer, this view never loses its magic.

Danielle and Brady wanted their wedding photos to feel timeless and really capture the spirit and emotion of the say. They wanted their photos to feel natural, and almost feel candid even when they are “posed”. No forced and cheesy shots allowed! They didn’t want to feel stiff or uncomfortable, which was fine with me, because I didn’t want that either! Throughout their portraits, I made sure that they looked (and felt) like they were being authentic to the moment and could feel natural. I know it’s not every day that my couples pose in front of the camera, and I was happy to guide them (and most importantly encourage them to soak up that wedding day bliss!).

The River Cafe offers breathtaking ceremony spaces that allow you to exchange your vows in a setting that is both awe-inspiring and intimate. Whether you choose the outdoor terrace with the gentle river breeze or the elegant indoor area with floor-to-ceiling windows, the moment you say "I do" is bound to be an unforgettable memory etched in time.

Danielle and Brady always knew they wanted to get married in the city: it’s where they met, where they built their lives together, and where they can’t wait to continue making memories. What can I say? These two love NYC as much as I do! When planning their wedding, they felt like they were inviting their friends and family to experience “their home” and they wanted to venue to reflect that. The River City Café felt like the perfect fit. They loved that it was right on the water and was home to the most gorgeous city views. The garden space is completely unique to any other New York City wedding venue and as a couple who always loves exploring new restaurants, it was really the quintessential choice. The space felt charming, intimate, and historical all at the same time.

As the sun dips below the skyline, the magic of your wedding day continues with the reception at The River Cafe. I adored Danielle and Brady’s pastel color palette for the reception. The pinks and greens blended together to enhance the natural beauty of the space and the result was truly flawless. Danielle and Brady admitted that they didn’t necessarily love the planning process (so if you are feeling the same way just know that you aren’t alone), but they were excited to see how everything came together. Needless to say, it was worth the effort. The space was gorgeous and it was the perfect atmosphere to spend their first night as newlyweds!
