Meet Mr. and Mrs. Sheeran! Shanleigh and Jim’s wedding was absolutely remarkable and it was such a treat to capture another wedding at the gorgeous Sablewood. Nestled in the heart of the picturesque countryside of Schoharie, New York, The Sablewood at Highview Springs stands as a hidden gem of rustic charm and natural beauty. With its sprawling landscapes, enchanting barn, and serene surroundings, this venue offers couples the perfect canvas to craft their dream wedding.

These two met when Shanleigh moved in right next door to Jim who was living in a duplex in Clifton Park - talk about a meet cute story! The two met at a dive bar down the road, realized they were neighbors, and have been together ever since. It was fate! When Shanleigh and Jim went on vacation with friends right after the pandemic, Jim proposed on the porch overlooking the ocean. It was time for these two to get married! Wedding Portraits at the Sablewood

The Sablewood beckons with its tranquil setting, surrounded by rolling hills, lush meadows, and towering trees. As you enter the grounds, you're greeted by an atmosphere that exudes serenity and warmth. The venue's harmonious blend of rustic aesthetics and modern amenities creates an environment that is simultaneously inviting and elegant, providing the perfect backdrop for a wedding that celebrates both love and nature.

There was so much to love about this gorgeous summer wedding. First, Shanleigh and Jim took their first look up a notch by exchanging private vows before the ceremony. If you love the sentimental touch of handwritten vows but want it to be more private than it would be at your ceremony, this can be a great alternative. Shanleigh and Jim then welcomed their sweet German Shepherd to celebrate with them, and we were able to capture a few wedding portraits with their pup! I will always encourage my couples to bring their pups for the photos if the venue allows.

Then, while I’m sharing a few of the things I loved the most, let’s have a moment for their soft summer color palette. The light blue dresses looked stunning on Shanleigh’s bridesmaids and the entire wedding was cloaked in classic wedding colors: sky blue, white, green, and gold. It was absolutely stunning from every angle.

Stunning Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Sablewood

Each space is thoughtfully designed to create an intimate ambiance where your love story takes center stage. As you and your partner pledge your love amidst the backdrop of the stunning countryside, the magic of the moment is enhanced by the natural surroundings.

I’m always curious to know why couples chose the venue they did (after all - we have so many epic wedding venues here in New York!), and when I asked Shanleigh and Jim they both agreed that Sablewood was just simply beautiful. From the building to the pond to the barn, it was just too stunning to say no. The backdrop as the two of them said their “I Do’s” was absolutely breathtaking, and they brought in some rustic elegance into the space with wine barrel ceremony markers, white barnyard chairs, and a gorgeous circular arch made of branches.

The barn at The Sablewood is the epitome of rustic elegance. With its exposed wooden beams, chandeliers, and vintage accents, it exudes a timeless charm that sets the stage for a reception that is both refined and inviting. The barn's spacious layout provides ample room for dining, dancing, and celebrating with your loved ones. As the sun sets and the twinkling lights illuminate the space, the atmosphere becomes one of enchantment and joy.

From the moment they started planning the wedding, Shanleigh and Jim agreed that they really wanted a relaxed and fun atmosphere! They wanted all of their guests and wedding party to be comfortable and simply enjoy celebrating with them! Not only was the space gorgeous (their sky blue and classic color palette looked effortless in the gorgeous barn wedding venue), but the evening ambiance was full of love and light. I loved being able to capture these two in their element, enjoying their wedding day and the presence of their family and friends.

When I asked Shanleigh and Jim what they wanted most from their wedding photos, they said that they wanted the pictures to trigger the same happiness that they experienced on their wedding day. Naturally, that’s exactly what I want to deliver with each gallery. My goal with each photograph is that it takes you back to a precise moment in time, even if while you are enjoying your wedding day it all feels so fleeting. Trust me, it goes by so quickly and yet each and every moment is worth remembering. Looking back at the photos from this Sablewood wedding, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be remembering how much Shanleigh and Jim truly enjoyed each and every moment of their day. It was an honor to be trusted to document it!
