Battello Jersey City Wedding

Zoey & Jeff // Jersey City, NJ

Battello in Jersey City, a contemporary waterfront restaurant, provided the perfect backdrop for a romantic celebration. With its chic interior, expansive windows, and an outdoor terrace overlooking the cityscape, this venue seamlessly blended modern elegance with the charm of the waterfront setting. Nestled on the waterfront with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, this unique venue set the stage for a dreamy summer wedding.

When Zoey and Jeff tied the knot on a warm July evening at Battello in Jersey City, their wedding felt like a scene straight out of a romance novel. With its stunning waterfront views of the Manhattan skyline, modern-industrial charm, and impeccable culinary reputation, Battello was the perfect backdrop for their unforgettable celebration.

The day began with Zoey getting ready in a nearby hotel suite, surrounded by her bridesmaids in matching silk robes. The atmosphere was filled with joyful anticipation as final touches were applied to Zoey’s soft, natural makeup and her elegant updo. Her dress, a timeless gown with delicate floral detailing, took everyone’s breath away. Meanwhile, Jeff and his groomsmen prepped, sharing laughter and a celebratory toast before heading to the venue.

Outdoor First Look at Battello

Zoey and Jeff’s first look took place outside Battello’s entrance. The moment Jeff turned around to see Zoey for the first time was filled with raw emotion, his smile growing wider as tears brimmed in his eyes. The love between them was palpable and set the tone for the rest of the day. This moment was magical to photograph. Following their first look, we captured the majority of their portraits around Battello. Using beautiful spaces inside to catch a reprieve from the hot summer sun.

Chinese Tea Ceremony

Before their wedding, Zoey and Jeff had a Chinese tea ceremony. The ceremony is a deeply symbolic and cherished tradition at weddings, embodying respect, gratitude, and the union of two families. During the ceremony, the couple kneels or bows before their parents and elders, offering them tea as a gesture of honor and appreciation for their love and guidance. In return, the elders bestow blessings, advice, and often red envelopes (hongbao) filled with gifts or money to symbolize prosperity and good fortune. The ceremony is not only a meaningful moment for the bride and groom but also an opportunity to strengthen familial bonds and celebrate the cultural heritage passed down through generations.

Sunset Ceremony at Battello

The ceremony was held outdoors under a modern geometric arch adorned with lush greenery and white roses. The skyline shimmered behind them as Zoey and Jeff exchanged heartfelt vows. The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the gathering and adding a dreamy ambiance to the already romantic scene. Their guests—a mix of close family and friends—sat in awe, soaking in the beauty of the moment. As a photographer, the golden hour lighting was a dream. The soft, warm tones illuminated every detail—from the arch’s floral accents to the joy on Zoey and Jeff’s faces.

Battello Summer Reception

As the evening transitioned to the reception, Battello’s indoor space came alive with flowers and candles. Warm candles provided a cozy glow, while sleek floral centerpieces brought a touch of sophistication. Zoey and Jeff’s first dance had everyone cheering. Their chemistry on the dance floor was undeniable. Battello’s high ceilings and open layout provided ample space to play with angles and capture the moment from various perspectives.

The dance floor was packed all night, thanks to an incredible DJ who kept the energy high. A special moment came when Zoey’s dad played a surprise performance—a crowd favorite! Candid moments like these are a joy to photograph. The energy, laughter, and surprise of the solo created some of the liveliest images of the evening. It’s always these unexpected moments that bring so much character to a wedding gallery. Zoey and Jeff’s wedding at Battello was a true celebration of love, family, and joy. It was an honor to capture the moments that made their day so special, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness.

The Palm House Reception at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

The Palm House, a glass-walled conservatory, hosted Serena & Benny’s reception, and it was nothing short of magical. As twilight fell, the room was illuminated by candles that mirrored the stars above. From a photography perspective, the Palm House offers unparalleled lighting opportunities. The glass structure allows ambient light to filter in beautifully, while the interior lighting adds a warm, inviting atmosphere. Their wedding palette of dusty pink, sage green, and gold was seamlessly woven into every element—from the stationery to the floral arrangements and table settings.

The reception unfolded in the Palm House, candid moments during toasts and the couple’s first dance were particularly striking. The glass walls reflected the shimmering lights, creating a dreamy, almost cinematic effect. Guests danced the night away, their laughter and joy adding life to every frame.

Photographing a wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is an experience like no other. It’s a reminder of why we do what we do—to capture the love, beauty, and fleeting moments that define a couple’s special day. If you’re a couple searching for a venue that combines natural beauty with timeless elegance, or a photographer looking to elevate your portfolio, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a place where dreams truly come to life.
