Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club Wedding

Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club Wedding

Alexandra & Austen // Bridgehampton, NY

Meet Mr & Mrs. Forbeck! Alexandra and Austen are one of those couples that you meet and you just know they were always meant to end up together. They have known each other since attending boarding school in the Berkshires (15 years ago!) but their love story really only began a few years ago when Austen reached out during a trip to NYC. After what I can only assume was years of pure love and laughter, Alexandra and Austen tied the knot in the Hamptons at Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club. Their wedding was absolutely stunning (so keep scrolling!) but even more than that, it was so much fun. I can’t wait to see what the two of them get up to next because I just know this Hampton’s wedding is just the beginning!

A Summer Wedding Color Palette

One of the reasons I love summer weddings so much is for the joyful and vibrant wedding palettes that make an appearance. Alexandra and Austen chose a classic white and green color palette but included pops of blue and pink hues. The result was simply stunning (and just between us - I am loving all the blue suits in my camera lately!). Alexandra was absolutely breathtaking wearing iridescent pearl jewelry and a Chosen by Khya wedding gown.

Alexandra didn’t want a “formal” first look. In her own words, she said” he can just come in while I’m getting ready and hang out”. Like I said above, these two are clearly the best of friends. Their first look was one of those moments that felt like a true honor to witness. Austen teared up almost immediately and both of them couldn’t shake their giant smiles from ear to ear.

Fun Wedding Photos in the Hamptons

The first look wasn’t the only moment that felt more fun than traditional. I knew Alexandra and Austen were not into traditional wedding photos, instead, they wanted to capture the love they had for one another and the fun that people were having. After they were all dolled up, we met their extra large wedding party on the beach to capture their wedding portraits. I like to think that I helped make it fun but honestly, this group of sweet souls would have had a blast no matter what. They even came prepared with sunglasses for some legendary beach wedding photos. As they said, “less of the posed stuff and more of the fun stuff”. The perfect energy for a beach wedding in the Hamptons.

A Beach Wedding Ceremony in the Hamptons

If you are getting married in the Hamptons in the summer, you are likely going to want an evening wedding ceremony for two reasons. One, it’s hot during the day (which is great when you are by the pool, and less desirable when you are wearing a suit). Second, the lighting is absolutely iconic. While after years of being a wedding photographer I like to think I can work in any lighting condition, there is something special that happens on the beach when the sun starts to go down. After Alexandra and Austen were pronounced husband and wife, we took a few more photos as the sun went down before heading indoors at Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club for their wedding reception.

Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club Wedding

When you chose to get married in the Hamptons, there are really no bad wedding venues. That being said, Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club was phenomenal. Right on the beach, the indoor wedding reception setting was decorated with clear chiavari chairs, tall centerpieces, and soft blue napkins at every seating for a pop of color. Alexandra and Austen’s zest for life was contagious and the dance floor was packed all evening. The band brought the ambiance and was a sentimental touch since they were the same band that played at Alexanda’’s college bar in Ohio! It was an absolutely beautiful evening celebrating two beautiful people.

A Beach Wedding After Party

One of the main reasons Alexandra and Austen chose the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club as their wedding venue was for the beach, so it made sense for us to end the evening together there. While the skyline is absolutely incredible as the sun starts to go down in the evening, there is a certain kind of magic that happens when the sun goes down and the sky is pitch black. It felt like these two were the only two left in the world (in the best way). It’s only been a few short months since their wedding day but I am already counting down the days until winter is over and I can get back to the Hamptons!

Congratulations Alexandra & Austen! Your wedding in the Hamptons was an absolute joy!
