The Mill Lakeside Manor Wedding

Renee & Bobby // Spring Lake, NJ

Welcome to the first wedding of the 2021 season! Renee & Bobby had the first “normal” wedding since covid started. These two celebrated on Sunday at the end of March and I’m sooo happy for them!

Bobby proposed to Renee while they were spending a few days with Bobby's family before they both drove down to spend the remaining holidays with Renee's family. Renee arrived at the Whiting's to an eerily-quiet house (she should've known something was afoot!). Bobby told Renee a family friend had car trouble and most of the family went to help out. Knowing Renee's competitive streak, Bobby suggested they play some Scrabble (her favorite board game) to pass the time until everyone arrived. Renee opened the box to start setting up, but there was a surprise on the board! Bobby had written out 'Will You Marry Me?' in Scrabble pieces and Renee turned around to see Bobby down on one knee. How cute!

I loved hearing all about the proposal when I met up with them last summer for their engagement session at Fort Tryon Park. Once Renee and Bobby each got ready for their big day with their loved ones, they share their first look outside the gorgeous wooden doors at their venue, The Mill Lakeside Manor. Keep scrolling to see how sweet their first look was!

Kind Words from Renee & Bobby:

My fiance and I live down in Washington, DC, and were trying to plan a wedding up in NJ, so we were only able to speak over the phone with possible photographers before choosing. From the start, we were attracted to Lizzie’s style— emotional and candid photos with great natural lighting. Her clients looked so at ease in their pictures, we just knew she had a ton of talent. As soon as we spoke on the phone with her, we knew we had to book her! She had a great personality— energetic but easy-going, and her style of photography exactly matched what we wanted out of our engagement and wedding photos. We met her for the first time during our engagement shoot, and we had a blast hanging out, talking, and snapping great pictures. Despite it being 100 degrees and humid, we were blown away by how amazing we looked in our pictures. Leading up to our wedding, she stayed in touch— sending us an organized schedule, wedding day timeline, and photo list, organizing our final details call, and filling us in on what would happen on our wedding day. As a Type A person, this helped me feel way less stressed as our wedding approached. She also scheduled an amazing second shooter, Carol. Lizzie and Carol directed us perfectly throughout the day, kept us on time for all of the different shots we asked for without feeling rushed or stressed, and kept us laughing! Bobby and I were floored by the quick turn-around of our sneak peeks shots (only 2 days later!!) and full gallery, and couldn’t help but get emotional about our wedding day all over again. It was incredible to see how amazing the pictures came out not only of us, but our families, bridal party, and guests. I cannot recommend Lizzie enough and would choose her as our photographer again in an instant!! Book her now!!
